How to De-Stress with Progressive Muscle Relaxation
When your mind is racing and your body feels tense, it’s easy to get stuck in a stress loop. One effective way to interrupt that loop is a technique called progressive muscle relaxation (PMR)—a science-backed method that helps calm your body and reset your nervous system.
In this video, I walk you through how PMR works and demonstrate how to practice it. It involves intentionally tensing and relaxing different muscle groups in your body. As you release physical tension, your brain gets the message that it’s safe to relax, which can reduce anxiety, improve focus, and even help with sleep.
This technique is especially helpful if you carry stress in your body or feel “on edge” without knowing why. Even just a few minutes of practice can make a noticeable difference.
