What’s the good feeling you get after intense exercise? It’s not from endorphin release like we originally thought. Instead, it’s from endocannabinoid release, which is your body’s natural cannabinoids. Regular, vigorous exercise also increases neurogenesis and improves depression and anxiety. To get this effect, the CDC recommends 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous intensity.

Can CBD help also with neurogenesis or is it the “physicality” of exercise that generates the endocannabinoid release ?
Dr. Tracey Marks
I’m not aware of CBD helping with neurogenesis. But there is a lot we don’t know about it. It’s the physicality of exercise that triggers the release.
